Virtual Carillon - Play the bells!

Please be patient:
Please wait while your computer downloads the samples files of the bells. This may take upto a minute or two depending on the speed of your internet connection.
Notation:
Real Carillonneurs play from sheet music which looks similar to piano music, and the keyboard is set out like that found on a piano (only bigger!). We’ve done it this way on the website so it’s easier for you to play at home.

What a fantastic web site! Many congratulations - it is a most impressive development and one which not only promotes Loughborough Carillon but also links to other sites which has got to be good for the carillon art.

Would your request involve something from the Phantom of the Opera? Let me know when you are in town and I will play extra loud for you!

Well it’s never too late so get learning! Meanwhile you can keep yourself amused on the virtual carillon. Come and visit again soon, before the tower closes for the winter.

Great website! Very informative, although I suspect the virtual carillon needs it’s virtual keyboard rearranged somewhat (it’s hard to remember which numbers correspond to which notes when they aren’t in a piano like layout!)

Hi Podge,
Thanks for your comments, we’re actually hoping to get up the tower again sometime soon to re-record each bell as I’m not happy with the audio quality of those original recordings.
Once we have that done I’ll set to and get a picture of the clavier and make it so you can click the baton to hear the bell
If you’re ever in the park and hear each bell being played in order you know what’s going on!
:)

Personally i do think that virtual carillon is extremely useful for people who are interested in Carillon but cannot read music. I really do think that loughborough carillon is very educational and my opinion is that my daughter can learn about carillon from this website.
