About the Bells of Loughborough

All of the bells at Loughborough Carillon were made by Taylors Bell Foundry, now called Taylors Eayre and Smith Ltd - a visit to and guided tour of the foundry offers an interesting insight into how bells are made using methods dating back to the bronze age.
The BBC website has a 360 degree panoramic view inside the Bell Foundry and the Taylors website has a complete list of the bells they produced for the Carillon at Loughborough.

There are 47 bells at Loughborough Carillon:
The largest Bell weighs 4.25 tonnes, has a diameter of 6′4″ and stands 5′ high.
The smallest Bell weights 20lbs, has a diameter of 7″ and 7.5″ high.
The highest and lowest notes are an A flat.
The tower stands 46 metres tall.
There are 138 steps to the viewpoint at the top and 90 steps to the Clavier room.
We have reproduced the Taylor Bell list with a digital twist that will let you hear each bell: The Bells of Loughborough
NEW Plus we’re pleased to announce the launch of our virtual carillon where you can play the bells on our digital clavier: Virtual Carillon - Play the bells!
