Loughborough Carillon Recitals

[Loughborough] (pronounced 'luff-burra' or 'luff-bruh') is the largest town in Leicestershire, England (City of Leicester excluded). The population of the town in 2001 was assesed at 55,492. It was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, and it is the administrative centre for the Charnwood district.

[Carillon] not Carillion (pronounced 'ca-ri-lon') A stationary set of bells usually for churches and mounted or suspended in the belfry.

Recitals: April 2010

The carillon tower will open to the public on Friday 2nd April and will be open throughout the season Tuesday - Sunday, 13:00 - 16:30 and Bank Holiday Mondays.

Sunday rectials will resume, beginning with a special Easter Sunday Recital at 15:30.

There will be a special St. George’s Day recital on Friday 23rd April at 1pm.

Recitals will contunue to be played on most Thursdays at 1pm through out March. The tower will open to the public at Easter weekend through to the end of September - details to follow.
